Golds Gym (Pyrite Gym)
Pros: friendly staff
"cleaning staff could use some pointers or maybe they could just start doing the job, same dirt in the lockers day after day, same gum in the urinals day afer day. With hundreds of people in and out during the day it should be cleaned more than just once a day ALWAYS out of the sanitizer towels around the gym, the paper towel and spray bottle(which is empty most of the time) does not cut the mustard!! I pay..therefore I expect...but I get Pyrite instead of Gold "

Good Place For a Serious Workout
"I like going to this gym because it is not very crowded, the free weights and machines allow me to concentrate on many specific muscle groups, there are many good aerobic and yoga classes that are included in my membership, and there is a large area dedicated for stretching."

Pros: Excellent Classes
Cons: Way too expensive
"I've been a Gold's Gym member for many years and was very pleased with their services especially the classes. I've recently withdrew my membership because of the costly monthly dues. I've since joined PF and I'm quite comfortable there, but no classes. If classes were available I would say they are right up there with Gold's Gym with the "right price".
Sincerely missing Gold's Gym but not the costly monthly dues!"

Gold's Gym vs. "the purple place"
"I was a Gold's Gym member and the only reason I switched was the price. I enjoyed Gold's gym and it was very clean when I went there. "The Purple Place" is always packed but after New Year Resolutioners leave the gym, there is always equipment available. In this economy, money is everything. Middletown Gold's is small and could not accommodate the volume PF has. Their equipment in my opinion is better than PF. "

Pros: very professional
Cons: you pay for quality, cheaper gyms are out there - but not same quality
"I enjoy working out here. The staff know who you are. They seem to care about you and your workouts. People who say it's dirty have obviously never gone there. It's very clean and has many new pieces of equipment."

Overpriced & Dirty with a very rude, untrained staff
"This facility cannot be making any money. Whoever is doing the hiring needs to do background checks first."

Go to the purple place
Pros: It's ok
Cons: Way overpriced
"Similiar facility but newer and cheaper"

"I thought that the staff was nice and welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. The facility was ok, it could use some updating. They have a good selection of equipment. The membership is a litle pricey though."

Lost over 30 pounds
Pros: great place to exercise and lose weight
"I lost over 30 pounds since I joined Gold's 3 months ago. I feel better and look better than ever. They have a great program called the Body Success Program. I didn't go on a diet. I learned how to eat better - what foods are good - what's not so good. I still eat my favorite foods, just a little more responsibly.
The classes are great also."
