Just try to get a phone call returned
"Don't expect the medicaid department to ever call you back. Left several messages about my application only to stay in limbo."

Commissioner's Office, O C Dept of Social Services
Pros: Often has been able to distribute benefits to people in need .
Cons: _ Irresponsible, lack of integrity in dealings with the public.
" It has been our unfortunate and very costly experience to have discovered that the office of the Commissioner of Social Services in Orange County apparently operates without accountability; the leadership there has demonstrated that it is free to operate with impunity, in ways which are self-serving and damaging to the interests of taxpayers. Our complaints regarding unfair treatment, and our requests for relief from problems resulting from Department staff members' incompetence and dishonesty, have been met with procrastination, buckpassing, stonewalling and outright denial, in that order, over a period of many months. It turns out that previous warnings we'd heard, that it would be prudent to avoid any dealings with this department, were all too true."
