not going back
"Found a hair in my food. was from the cook for sure. It was under my eggs. i found it when i flipped them over. the clook has a bushy unkept beard and a bad attitide. eat at your own risk. good luck on your expansion plans. i won't be helping out though because i will not be back."

Good Service
"I had to pass some time today,so I went to Maddy's.When I walked in the place looked very clean,so I sat at the counter.All the workers looked very happy and everyone had a smile on there face.I had a bowl of homemade veggie beef soup.It was delicious.Thank you Maddy's Diner for reopening.I will pass a good word....... "

Yay it's back
"I'm so happy it's back open! The new owner& manager are wonderful people with great ambition and are very friendly, the manager is always checking up on all of his customers with a smile. The food is excellent, great prices. The uniforms look great on the staff! All the waitress's are extremely friendly and always smile. I

Still BAD

"Saw the place open, went there got a booth, was seated and given a drink and ignored. Deja vu! The staff is wearing black shirts and the food is the same. New owner was busy worrying about cash register.
went back a second time, this time i went to the counter and sat right there. i really wanted to give the new owner a chance. went in, sat down, ordered, got a soda and was ignored. some regulars came in, had to sit and listen to the waitress describe her neck surgery to the regulars, she got their drinks and their food, i sat there..... got my cold food with warm gravy poured all over it. who are we kidding here...."

Pros: good food, convinient location, good service
"the food at Maddy's is great. When you go there, it feels like you're having a meal with friends. The service is O.K., but other than that, i highly recomend this diner to everyone. I've only been there a few times while I was out of town, but while I was there, they treated me like I was a regular. Maddy's Diner is the best place to be if you want a good meal."

"Service is terrible. You don't want to go here unless you are a regular. They make you feel like they are doing you a favor. Food is greasy and below average. Cursing is common place. Even a contractor was working there and was rude and obnoxious. We have tried it several times but will not be back. "

"Years ago Maddies used to be great, I went there the other day with my daughter and grandson and it was terrible. The waitress took our order and was not seen again. Our food was edible but not what I would call good. The place also needs a good cleaning. Someone else delived our food while our waitress sat there and gabbed and ignored us. We had to ask for our check. I did notice as we were heading out to our car how quickly she got up to do our dirty table though..looking for her tip i'm sure which wasn't much. Much better places to eat in middletown we won't be back."

"Get this... I went in for 2 pancakes, 2 eggs over easy and a water... 40 minutes later I was given the wrong breakfast. 3 minutes later I was given the right one... Ridiculous. "

"years ago this place was good but my daughter and I went for breakfast the other day and it was terrible. The food was so so but the service was terrible. We did not see our waitress once while we were there except to deliver our food which took a very long time, and then she didn't seem to happy about it. "

"McDonalds is not the answer either, but there are other great local diners like the Americana on Route 211 and even the Quickway and Colonial Diners are better. The staff at Maddy's only want to wait on the regulars, the parking is awful, the food is nothing better than average (I only had breakfast there a few times with friends)and the atmosphere is noisy and rough - sort of like a biker bar that serves breakfast. The waitresses are bitchy and they DO act like they are doing you a favor when they take your order. Have at least 35+ minutes to spare for breakfast. I don't know about the rest of the day. When the place burned down Marc should have taken the money and started a new business - he is a friendly guy though. In today's economic times he could go under when it will be harder to get customers. People will not give second and third chances."

"I took my 16 yld daughter to the diner to show her that mcdonalds is not the only place to eat i come from a time when food was not something you got from a drive up window,we sat at a table and order from a waitress.well i made the mistake of chosing maddy's because we were ignored for about 30mns and when the manager fanily noticed us we got drinks and made our orders about 30mns later we didnot have food!!I sat and watched three other people recieve their food and pay their check and still we had no food!! so I aplogised to my daughter.payed for the two drinks and left the diner from-hell,I guess mcdonalds is not so bad after all."

Pros: Could be a good place if only they are willing to change
Cons: Service leaves a lot to be desired, Need to change image to attract a better customer. Tell the current customer not to curse ,
"The food here could be the best in the world but as long as the service stinks this place should be on the stay off list. The other issue that this place has and needs to clean up also is the kind of customers. Whenever we eat there these customers are always using curse words when they talk out loud, very loud, and bother other customers. Clean up the place and you may do more business. It is now 2008 not 1950 you need to change with the times. As of now this place is not fit for kids till the customers they cater to clean up not only their act but also stop cursing "

"For the people who left positive reviews, you must be one of the few the waitresses like. I have been there several times with different people. You have to sit and wait for your drink. The wait staff stands and gossips. The kitchen help stares out the door at the women. The food is cold and pretty much warmed up tv dinners. They disguise it all with lots of greasy gravy. You have to sit there and wait for your check. There are no drink refills. The owner stands there and complains to all who listen how hard he has it. Well, look around at what is going on..... Yeah, maybe after he chewed the staff out they behaved for a week or two.... The cussing, the gossiping, its all back. The parking lot is a disaster waiting to happen... I will never ever go there again. Go down to McDonalds, at least there, you can get your own drinks.... and you dont have to worry about leaving a tip... "

"I personally wrote Marc a letter regarding the waitress staff and their not paying attention to the customer. It helped tremendously. They are prompt in taking your order, checking on you and brining more coffee. It paid to let Marc know what was going on."

Awful Parking
"Totally agree with the other reviews~I've been to this place on different occasions over the years.
Back in the late 90's it was a nice place to go. The waitresses were very attentive. Now there IS too much drama.
Seems the waitresses only pay attention to certain people. Hopefully the owner reads this and makes some changes for the better of his business!!! I don't know who the owner is but someone should let him know how people feel.
My mother and father in-law still eat there because of the location.(Close to Home)"
